CTPMA hosted a Lubricants Townhall in conjunction with its March 7th Spring Board meeting in Houston. The Townhall featured Bob Stolz General Manager Lubricants North America and Wayne Ederer, Manager Chevron Lubrication Marketers.  The where Chevron Lubrication marketers from all over the country in attendance and posing questions to both Bob and Wayne who spent three and a half hours discussing various aspects of the lubricant business touting successes in OEM growth for factory fills, continuing to invest in Group II base oils, premium products, synthetics, digital platforms, accelerate program and a new Ohio Valley warehouse. Challenges for lubricants are in the auto install segment for 2019.
Questions were also asked about enhanced collaboration between CTPMA and Chevron Lubricants. Wayne agreed to provide more information to CTPMA on what’s going on in the lubricants world so that information can be shared with marketers via CTPMA e-news. In future Townhalls, CTPMA will work with Chevron to develop the bigger strategic issues that will help differentiate Chevron marketers from the competition. Additionally, CTPMA offered to work with Chevron Lubricants on advocacy issues that help promote positive outcomes for the lubricants industry and marketers that supports the lubricants business. This is similar to what has been asked of CTPMA in regard to supporting Chevron’s retail advocacy efforts.
